HVCA TR19 regulations requires the ductwork to be cleaned to prevent the spread of a fire though an extraction system, In order for us to issue a certificate for your system Howells Bradford Ltd may require to supply and fit access panel into the ductwork to ensure that the ductwork is clean.
Access doors and panels are installed when required to gain suitable entry into the ductwork to comply with regulations. The HVCA recommend that this should be approximately every two metres.
We recommend that access doors and panels are fitted to the size of the ductwork to allow maximum access into the ductwork
When the extraction fan is located in the ductwork we strongly recommend fitting access panels before and after the fan housing to gain access to the fan preventing grease build up and a possible breakdown of the system.
Access doors will be cut in using HVCA TR19 approved cutting methods. This will involve the use of a steel Nibbler. All power tools used will be 110v or battery powered. The door will then be fitted into cut section of ductwork and sealed. All doors supplied by Howells Bradford Ltd are approved HVCA standard and are self sealing to prevent leakage.
