Method Statement

Kitchen Extraction Cleaning

  1. Decontamination of all extract ducting shall be carried out in a direction towards the air-handling unit.
  2. Access shall be installed as and when required to gain suitable entry into the ductwork to facilitate the cleaning. It is estimated that access will be required every 2 metres depending on the size of the duct.
  3. All internal surfaces are degreased and the internal contamination and residue removed.
  4. The extraction fan is isolated and both the housing and the impeller blades are chemically and manual cleaned using heavy-duty detergent.
  5. All kitchen areas are suitably covered with polythene sheeting prior to commencement, to protect any electrical and general equipment
  6. All working areas are left as found.
  7. All debris shall be sealed in bags for disposal.
  8. A certificate of completion shall be issued upon completion and payment of works and return of customer satisfaction form.

Ventilation Canopies, Filters and Wall Mounted Extractor Fans

  1. Degrease exposed surfaces of canopy / ventilation hood with heavy-duty detergent and dry.
  2. Degrease filter housing to a maximum distance of arms length into the ductwork.
  3. Remove grease filters, clean, neutralise chemical, rinse, dry and replace.
  4. Extractor fans. Remove external cover and degrease, clean all exposed surfaces including rotablades.
